Privacy Policy

The short version

ClipTools is built to be private. Your video and audio files are processed entirely in your browser and are never uploaded to our servers. We do not store, share, or sell your files. We never see them.

Files you process

Every media tool on this site runs locally on your device using WebAssembly. When you select a file, it is read into your browser’s memory, processed there, and returned to you as a download. The file never leaves your device and is discarded from memory when you close the page or process another file.

The only exception is our AI transcription tools (video-to-text and auto-captions). For those, the compressed audio track — extracted in your browser — is sent to a third-party speech-to-text provider solely to generate a transcript. Your video itself is never sent, and the audio is not retained for any other purpose.

Information we do collect

• Analytics. We use privacy-respecting analytics to understand which tools are used and how the site performs. This data is aggregated and does not identify you.
• Advertising. We display ads to keep the tools free. Ad partners such as Google may use cookies to show relevant ads.
• Local storage. We store small preferences (like your light/dark theme choice) in your browser. This never leaves your device.

Cookies

Essential functionality works without cookies. Third-party services (analytics and ads) may set cookies. You can block or delete cookies in your browser at any time; the tools will continue to work.

Your rights

Because we do not collect personal files or accounts, there is very little personal data to access or delete. For any privacy questions — including requests under the GDPR or CCPA — email us and we will respond promptly.

Children

ClipTools is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the “last updated” date above.
